Well the time has come for me to retire. I've enjoyed this past year and created many wonderful kits. However I just don't have time to do any of the other things I love. Scrapping, photography, cooking and just spending time with my family. So I have made the hard decision to retire.

From now until the end of the year my entire store will be on sale for $1.00 for each item (excluding bundles) and you have the option to buy my store for $15. That's a steal!

Last year around Christmas a friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. After having a masectomy and enduring chemo, she is finally healing. She is now preparing for radiation treatments.

On October 16th I will be participating in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5k walk. On behalf of my friend and her team Loco for LoKoh. If you would like to help me by donating please visit my fundraising page here.

I wanted to do something special for her, so I made her a special kit and decided that all of the proceeds from this kit will be donated to the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure on her behalf.

I was totally inspired the other day by Sherri Tierney to get a jump start on my daughters baby book. I have lots of pages scrapped but none that I really want to put into her baby book. Sherri did one for her husband. She used the 10 things I love about you theme. She also used my Birthday Girl kit. And it is totally cute.

Then I saw this blog post from Megan Turnidge about her review of Adorama Pix photobooks and I totally need one, or two or three! So I decided to get in gear and start her book!

So I picked up some kits I have been coveting from Weeds & Wildflowers. I am in LOVE with Gina's Sweet & Simple Life collection. Here is what I bought.

I just found out today that Gina is making the Sweet & Simple kits for each month! So now I need to go buy January, March, and May is coming out today! I'm so excited!

I also bought some great templates from Crystal Livesay over at Oscraps! She has some of my favorite templates.

I'll try to post some of my layouts as I go, but I have decided I definately need to take more time out to scrap! My daughter is 2 now and I still don't have her 1st year book even started.

So, things have been a little rough around here lately with my little boogie!

Last month she decided that coloring all over herself with a black sharpie would be super fun!

I think she stashed the marker in her room at some earlier time and then decided that while she was "supposed" to be taking a nap would be a good time to color! It was up her nose and everything.

Then we had our first major ouchie! Not emergency room major, but still "My poor baby!"

I felt terrible, she caught herself in the mouth with the broom handle. I couldn't believe how much it swelled up.

I am loving my break from designing! I have actually been getting some pages done! I have been buying kits like crazy though!

I am still working on getting into a CT. I really want to find a designer that my scrapping style totally clicks with. I know the perfect one is out there! LOL! I just need to find it.

In the mean time here is the pages I have been working on lately!

I made this one using Flergs and Kaye Winiecki's A Perfect Day kit.

Laura from Simply Scraps was nice enough to let me play with her new collab with Scraps By Shilo. It's called Bots of Love. My DH was so excited that I made a layout that refered to Kristin and video games.

I think I am falling in love with Kristin Cronin-Barrow. I just bought like 6 of her kits. I love her style and they work perfectly with my pics of Kristin. This is from her kit Cherry Sweet.

This one is from First Kiss of Spring by Flergs and Sugarplum Paperie. I bought this kit a while back and am just now getting around to using it.

Well as you may have noticed, Digital Candy is now closed. So I took that opportunity to figure out what I wanted to do next. I realized that I haven't had much time to scrap anymore. Which is what got me to where I am now. I kind of miss it. And I also felt like with all of the deadlines and responsibilities that come with being a designer, that I was missing out on a lot of fun with family and friends too. So I have decided to take a break from designing for a little while. So if you were wondering what I was going to do, well, now you know!

With that being said here are a couple of layouts that I managed to get done this weekend! I was so excited to be able to scrap something. I am actually thinking of applying for a CT or two. Crossing my fingers that I am good enough and someone will take me in! So here they are...

A day in the snow!

We took Kristin to the snow for the first time. She hated it. We got a few good pics but as soon as we put her down she started crying.

Then Daddy decided to smash a snowball in front of her.

And here is the photo that takes the cake! She was so upset and we had only been there for 10 minutes! Oh well, maybe next year.

Well I was going to redo my old birthday kit "It's My Party" because I am designing my daughters 1st birthday invitation. But then I found this really cool shirt from Gymboree on E-Bay. I absolutely loved it and decided to make a kit using the shirt as inspiration. So now I will use the kit for her invitation and scrapbook for her birthday party. I love the colors and can't wait to see it all together! So that is how I ended up making Birthday Girl.

I have exciting news! I am leaving both AhhhScrap and Digital Paper Hearts and moving exclusively to a new store (well the store is not new, but I will be new to the store). I can't share which store yet but I am sure you have all heard of it! Watch for the big announcement! I am so excited, it is one of my dream stores.
So with that said I am going to finish up December at AhhhScrap and DPH then I will be storeless for January. But don't worry because I will still be designing in January getting ready for my big grand opening in February. I have some awesome new kits that will be making their debut in my new store.
And keep watching my blog because sometime in January I will be doing another blog freebie. This time it will be a full kit. So you don't want to miss it!

So as I am sure you have noticed, my designing has been getting a lot better, so I have decided to retire some of my older kits. For now they will be available for $1 then they will be gone forever. Woo Hoo! My first full kit! I always wanted to make a kit using the colors pink and brown. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! It was so fun to create. I would love to start selling in a store but need a little more experience first. Since this is my first attempt at a kit, make sure to give me some feedback good or bad, I can take it :)

So anyway, I started a slideshow for Pink Chocolate. If you make a layout using my kit please add your layout to my slideshow. I would love to see what you make out of it. Just click on the slideshow and you can upload your own image! Then I just go in there and approve you and voila, you are on my slideshow!

This kit includes

12 Papers (7 patterned, 5 solid), 3 frames (2 cardboard, 1 glitter heart border), 1 glitter heart border, 4 gemstones, 2 curled ribbons, 5 silk flowers, 5 ricrac, and 2 glitter flourish graphics. This is my first ever post, on my first ever blog, with my first ever freebie! Aren't you all lucky! I made a glitter style for you. This is a style and the PNG's are not included in this download.
